Moulsford School receives Highly Commended Award
Moulsford School has been ‘Highly Commended’ in the Independent Boys School of the Year category at the 2018 Independent School Parent Schools of the Year Awards.
There were only two other Highly Commended schools, Eaton House Belgravia and Dulwich College and the category was won by Bolton School Boys’ Division. This is a huge achievement for Moulsford, especially to be competing against such highly regarded prep and senior schools.
There were over 250 entries across eighteen different categories, with awards celebrating everything from healthy eating, use of video production, community outreach and environmental achievement. The judges comprised of leading figures from across the sector, Chaired by Dr Helen Wright, a former President of the Girls School Association and Vice-Chair of the Independent Schools Council.
Claudia Dudman, Editor of Independent School Parent commented, “Every entry was carefully scrutinised and the panel were enormously impressed by the depth and breadth of the entries, as well as the evident impact the winning and highly commended schools are having on their pupils.”
At Moulsford, there is a belief that the boys gain from an environment where everything is geared towards the way boys learn best. Their classroom teaching methods promote plenty of practical and outdoor learning both in and out of the classroom to keep boys stimulated and physically active while learning. Their teachers know what makes boys tick, and the curriculum and individual lessons are tailored specifically for boys to help them achieve their full academic potential.
Competitive sport is a vital element of a boy’s development, at whatever age and level they are playing. Moulsford’s single sex environment allows full advantage to be taken of the grounds and facilities, with teams and coaching to suit all levels of ability.
